Updates

Well, it has been quite a while since I have blogged! I have been surprisingly busy (considering I don't have a job!) and Gordon has had a lot of time off recently (YAY!), so blogging has not been my main priority.
We are all settled in to our apartment. I am getting close to being finished decorating! Once I'm done I will post pictures for everyone to enjoy! I really like our new place. Its smaller than our old place, but the space is used better and it is 10x's nicer! We are on the top floor with a pool view! And its nice to be the first people who have lived here. It still smells really new!
We have been enjoying the things to do around here. We went and got Disneyland annual passes which gives us something fun to do when we are bored. We have already gone 4 times in the last 2 weeks! We also were able to go to the Angel's game the other night with Glenn, Eric, and Laura. We had a great time!
Nixon is getting bigger (for him, at least). We had to go and buy him a new crate. This one should be good for a long time. He has plenty of room. He really likes our apartment and is doing great! Its also been nice to be able to take him to Gordon's parent's house when we are gone for a long time so that he has a backyard to play in.
We have started going to a church that we like. Its called Calvary Church of Santa Ana. We started going to their new marrieds class and have been enjoying it. We are still the outsiders in the group, but I'm not getting discouraged because I know that it takes time to become really connected in a church. I hope that in time we will be able to call it home.
I am still progressing in my background investigation for Anaheim PD Dispatch. I'm hoping to hear soon whether or not I got the job. The waiting is killer! I went in to do a job shadow the other night and I really enjoyed it and now want the job more than ever!!
The only downer is how much I have been missing my family and friends. I hate not being able to drive over to Nicole or my Mom or Megan's house whenever I want. However, this past weekend Nicole drove down here just so we could have lunch and then my sister-in-law came to hang out and spend the night and my parents came for the day so it was great to see them!

So there you have it. You are officially updated on my life for the most part (that is, if anyone actually reads this!). I will be posting pictures soon enough!

Sick to My Stomach

Well there is only three days left until we move to Anaheim and with each passing day I get a little more sick to my stomach. Its not that I'm not excited because I am, its just that there is so much uncertainty involved with it. I mean, what if I don't get this job with the city of Anaheim? What if I don't make any friends? What am I going to do when I have a bad day and Gordon is working and I can't just go over to Nicole's house and sit on her couch and whine? I know I am probably being melodramatic, but I just keep stressing about the move.
We tried out a new church last Sunday when we were visiting his parents (Calvary Church of Santa Ana) and we went to their new marrieds class and then to their main service. I really enjoyed the class and the service. I just hope that through that class, Gordon and I can make some new friends.
Anyway, I really should be more positive. I'm super excited about living in a brand new apartment that no one has lived in before! Its gorgeous on the inside and the complex is so nice! There is even a park right near the building so I can walk Nixon. Also, I'm really glad to have that little dog. When Gordon is working I love to just take him on walks and cuddle with him on the couch. He brings me so much joy! It will be nice to be close to Gordon's brothers and some friends there. Another thing to be happy about is getting a Disneyland pass and being so close to the park and to the stadium!
I'm just nervous for everything, but I know that God is in control and has us there for a reason, I just can't shake this sick-to-my-stomach feeling.

Highs and Lows

Well, it's Friday! Yay! To be honest, I'm REALLY glad this week is over. It has been not the greatest of weeks. Often, I tend to focus on the negative. While there were plenty of negatives this week, there were also some great things! So I'm going to post one high and one low this week.

I'll start with the lows, so I can end on a positive note:
-Some of my friends have been horribly unsupportive of our move to Anaheim (including telling me that they refuse to visit me once I'm gone.) I spent a lot of time crying over those hurtful words and ended up realizing that those people are NOT my friends.
-I have been majorly stressed about moving and started freaking out that I'm not going to have any friends once I'm in Orange County. I was just freaking out about it....

Now for some positives:
-Gordon only worked 2 days this week. I really enjoy having him home. We laugh.... A LOT!
-I got to go to happy hour with my cousin when on one of the nights I was freaking out. I ended up talking and laughing with her for 4 hours! It was just what I needed
-I have been able to hang out with Kelly, Nicole, and Megan this week and I realized what a blessing they are in my life! They all contributed to my being cheered up.

When I weigh things out, it was a pretty good week!

My Camera is Back!!

Oh how I missed my camera! Its working again and I finally had the opportunity to upload pictures of my life as of recently!

Gordon and I went to Hume for the weekend with Gracie! How cute are they?

Gracie loved walking around the lake!

:)

I love the view

Relaxing at the cabin

I love being married to my best friend

Nicole and I relaxing in the pool!

11 years later and nothing has changed....

I don't know what I'm going to do without her when I move!

Nixon trying to jump on me

He tries to chew on my hand...

... and sometimes he succeeds

Nixon's favorite toy!

He is so freaking cute!

Anyway, thats kind of what has been going on in my life! Hume, spending days at the pool, and training a new puppy! Not too terribly exciting, but everything is about to change next week when we move! On to new and exciting things!
