....Then Comes a Baby in a Baby Carriage

Last week, VERY surprisingly, I found out that I am pregnant. I was SHOCKED. I took the test late at night when Gordon was asleep because I honestly didn't think it would come back positive. I just thought it would put my mind at ease and I could go to sleep. Boy was I wrong!
I'm not going to lie. At first, I just started sobbing. Gordon heard me crying and woke up and said, "Are you OK?," To which I replied "NO. I'm pregnant." Thank the Lord for such an amazing husband. The only thing he said to me was, "That's amazing." He really calmed me down. We stayed up for a while talking, and I finally fell asleep.

Just to be sure, I took three more tests and they all came back positive so we made an appointment at an OBGYN to get the blood work and to find out that I am 5 weeks along. We spent the last few days telling family and close friends. Our parents are SO excited. It will be the first grandchild on either side of the family, so I have a feeling he or she will be very spoiled!

Now, I am really excited for this new addition. I can't believe I was even sad about it. I mean, clearly, God has a plan for us and who am I to question this and whine about it? Yes, I wanted to wait longer. No, I'm not sure if I'm going to be a good parent, but God know exactly what he is doing and I know that I can rest in His plan. Plus, he has given me two amazing women in my life (my mom and mom-in-law) who have raised good kids and I know that I can go to them and gain wisdom from them.

So our life is about to change dramatically. I'm excited for this new phase in our lives.
