Our first Ultrasound!

A couple days ago we had our first doctor appointment and ultrasound. It was definitely a cool experience. Up until this point in my pregnancy, I haven't really felt the realization that I am actually carrying a child. I have mainly felt like I had the stomach flu. That changed yesterday.

We got to the doctor's office and filled out the paperwork. Then we saw the nurse and she asked me how I was feeling. I told her about how nauseous I have been feeling the past few weeks and she told me that there is a drug that I can take that helps alleviate that (THANK GOD!). Then we saw the Nurse Practitioner. She was so nice and made me feel really comfortable. She told me that since I'm only 9 weeks pregnant I won't be able to hear the heartbeat until our next visit, but that I could probably see it beating.

It was really neat when we saw the ultrasound. It actually had the shape of the baby (I kind of expected it to look like a blob). And you could see the heart beating really fast. I finally feel like this pregnancy is real and there really is a baby in there. I am so excited for our next visit when we will get to hear the heartbeat! Anyway, here are the pictures we got back!

On a side note, that medicine is working wonders on my nausea and I have been almost feeling like normal! :-)
