.... These are the three things I have learned as of the past three days.
First off, let me say that I have never in my life driven a large car. My first car was a Pontiac Grand Am, my second was a 1990 Toyota Corolla, my third was a 1999 Toyota Rav4, and my current car is a 2005 Toyota Corolla (I know, I have had a lot of cars). I LOVE my Corolla. It is my baby. My husband, on the other hand, drives a monster of a vehicle. He drives a bright blue Dodge Ram. Seriously, its big. Well, my car gets 25 miles to the gallon and his gets a measly 10.
Since we are a budget-concious couple, we have decided to trade cars because he has to drive to the academy everyday.
So now I am stuck driving the beast. I feel all turned around. While Gordon is zipping down the 5 freeway with my precious little car, I'm struggling to change lanes on The Old Road (it is the name of a road). Lane changing is not the least of my problems. I cannot park this thing to save the life of me. I literally have to drive to the farthest edge of a parking lot, look for 2-4 empty spots in a row and leave about and extra 10 minutes to get straight in a spot. Yesterday, I drove to lunch and there was only one spot open in the lot and it was between to other large cars.... I turned back around and went back to work. I was NOT about to squeeze in there. Also, the radio does not work well. I cannot sit in my car on my lunch break and listen to Dr. Laura... This is also a dissappointment. I know we are helping out budget, but I want my car back. :(
As I'm driving to work on monday in the monster, I realized that there is construction going on on The Old Road. I was forced to get on the 5 freeway (I don't even take the freeway) going the OPPOSITE way of my work. So I got off at the first exit, which took me back over by our apartment, and had to go back on another road. IT WAS AWFUL. I now have to do this everyday indefinitely until they finish the road work. Lame.
One final thought... I am a big fan of eating Smart Ones for lunch. Its healthy, not too expensive, and it tastes good. I assumed since I have liked all of the ones I have eaten before, that I would like the roasted chicken and mashed potatoes. It seems hard to mess up. But it tastes like crap. I do not reccommend it.
...Just some things I have been thinking about the past few days.
To end things positively, Gordon and I do not have any plans for tonight and tomorrow. I am so excited to just relax with nothing to do! Those days are the best :)
